Position Summary

The Regional Manager, Housing and Childcare supports Northern Health’s (NH) recruitment and retention strategies by securing and coordinating housing and childcare options in communities across the health authority. Through collaboration with community partners and other stakeholders, the Manager sources options, negotiates rentals and long-term lease arrangements and secures spots in childcare facilities. The incumbent is also responsible for establishing policies and procedures for access to, and use of, resources. The Regional Manager ensures the requirements of the Residential Tenancy Act and other legislated requirements are adhered to and is responsible to develop contracts with local agencies to provide cleaning, snow clearing and maintenance services as required.

Prince George has a population of 89,490 (2021) local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000. Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in commerce or finance, plus three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in property management
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to deal effectively with various stakeholders including staff, consultants and contractors
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to bring groups to consensus and to resolve conflict
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Ability to operate related equipment including computer software application.
