Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the RN Site Coordinator or designation team leader, the Resident Care Partner is responsible for providing care and service to meet the needs of the residents. The Care Partner works cooperatively with residents, colleagues, families, visitors and volunteers to create a respectful, positive home like environment. This includes providing personal care, light housekeeping duties, limited food preparation and assisting with recreational activities.

Houston Health Centre has an array of services under one roof including urgent care, public health, home and community care, mental health and clinics for women’s health and physiotherapy. Houston Residential care consists of four permanent beds with a common area and shared kitchen space and secured outdoor space. The care home is staffed with one LPN and one Care Aid. We also have two short stay beds for Respite and Palliative Care.

Houston has a population of 3600 local residents and is known as the world’s steelhead fishing capital. Nestled in the beautiful Bulkley Valley amongst some of BC’s finest outdoor recreational opportunities. Check out [a[/a]Houston where the people are friendly and the wilderness beckons.

• Grade 12 plus Resident Care Attendant Certificate and recent related experience of one (1) year.
• Certificates in CPR, First Aide and Food Safe.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
