The Regional Manager, Public Health Practice (PHP) provides leadership and support to a team of public health practice leaders. The Regional Manager, PHP is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing, managing and evaluating public health nursing practice support provided to Primary Care Homes (PCH) and Inter-professional teams (IPT) with a focus on: sexual and reproductive health; maternal, child, youth and family health; and harm reduction. The Regional Manager, PHP is accountable for the leadership and management of the human, financial and material resources and ensures programs, policies and practices align with best practice, professional, legal, and Northern Health (NH) standards and goals. |
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or other related discipline; - Undergraduate degree in Nursing; - Five (5) to seven (7) years of recent and related Public Health nursing experience with at least two (2) years in a leadership role; - Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Registration with BCCNP and member in good standing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills in a complex environment. - Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others and to lead, participate and facilitate inter-professional groups in a collaborative environment with multiple interests. - Demonstrated project management experience and success. - Ability to develop and nurture in an environment where quality improvement principles are embraced and used on a continuous basis. - Knowledge of BCCNM Standards of Practice. - Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply these skills in potentially emotionally charged situations. - Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a dynamic, complex environment.
