LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN), MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE USE WITHDRAWL MANAGEMENT

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Northern Health.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Team Leader of 3NE, the adult inpatient psychiatry unit or designate, as part of a multidisciplinary team, the LPN works with patients admitted to 3NE. The LPN assists with a wide range of nursing procedures including assessment, monitoring, distribution of (oral) medications, and provides personal care to the clients as required.

Mental Health and Substance Use certification and experience is required. Acute and/or Med-Surg skills and knowledge are required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings, 07:00 to 18:15, 11:45 to 23:00 (rotating)

A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Northern Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.

Qualifications

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.

• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
