Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Administrative Assistant to support the Medical Affairs department.
The Assistant, Medical Affairs provides secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the designated team members within HSDA Medical Affairs/Chief(s) of Staff/Hospital Medical Staff Department Heads and related committees. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of administrative support, including agenda preparation, minute taking/transcription for the Hospital Medical Advisory Committee. Other duties include the distribution of mail for the Medical Affairs office and ordering supplies.
Starting salary will be approximately from $49,445 to $61,806 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Qualifications
• Grade 12 supplemented by successful completion of an administrative diploma/certificate plus three
• (3) to five (5) years of progressive administrative assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience in minutes taking an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with an ability to deal with staff, Medical Staff and the general public in an effective and professional manner.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Outlook, Internet, Word and Excel.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal direction.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible to rapidly changing priorities and demands.
• Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone manner.
• Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to type 60 wpm.
