Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Human Resources Assistant, Operational Support.
Aligned with Northern Health’s strategic plan, and in accordance with the organizations vision and values, the Human Resources Assistant, Operational Support works collaboratively and proactively with leaders of the assigned portfolio to assist in the completion of human resource and other management functions. The position is responsible to track education requirements for staff and assists leaders to ensure completion in compliance with regulatory, legislative, and organizational requirements. The Assistant monitors, tracks, and reports on human resource metrics, including employee attendance, workforce demographics, overtime, and vacancies; assists in ensuring accuracy of data by maintaining position level detail in collaboration with leaders, Finance and Human Resources
The role assists regional departments in recognizing opportunities that will ensure consistency, collaboration and increased efficiency in the delivery of services to Northern Health leadership teams. The incumbent contributes to a welcoming, diverse, and psychologically safe work environment by establishing respectful relationships, modelling expected behavior, addressing situations where NH values are not demonstrated and assisting others to do the same.
Starting salary will be approximately from $58,494 to $73,117 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Qualifications
• Diploma in Human Resources, Business or a relevant discipline;
• Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience including human resources experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Ability to be self-directed.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and ability to understand and translate customer needs.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain respectful relationships with staff and internal customers.
• Ability to balance and adapt to changing priorities and workload pressures.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Problem solving and analytical skills to analyze and resolve issues relating to employment transactions, system problems.
• Demonstrated ability in the use of related software, at an intermediate level.
