ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, ELDER PROGRAM & PERINATAL PROGRAM (WORKSITE LOCATION IS FLEXIBLE)

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Administrative Assistant.

In accordance with vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health and reporting to the Director/Executive Lead or designate, the Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative assistance and secretarial support to the Director/Executive Lead or designate and programs/services throughout the applicable Health Service Delivery Area (HSDA)/Region or Corporate Department of Northern Health (NH). Triages information of a sensitive and confidential nature, coordinates the flow of information, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of administrative services, and keeps the Director/Executive lead or designate apprised of issues and activities. Interacts primarily with director/managers and their administrative support staff throughout the HSDA/Region and across NH to professionally represent the Director’s/Executive Lead interests, share information, clarify details and answer questions. Works independently and communicates with internal and external stakeholders/customers in a manner that promotes positive and respectful relationships.

Starting salary will be approximately from $48,476 to $60,594 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized administrative assistant/secretarial post-secondary program plus three
• (3) years of senior administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Intermediate to advanced skills using a variety of computerized software packages such Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, MS Teams), related databases and ability to navigate the internet efficiently.
• Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
• Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
