DISTRIBUTION DRIVER

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Distribution Driver to fill a Casual position at the Fort Nelson General Hospital.

Reporting to the Director – Logistics, Transportation and Distribution, the incumbent is responsible for the operation, loading, and unloading of a variety of single axle fleet vehicles and transporting a variety of supplies and/or materials using a tow motor and by methods such as loading items by hand or using pallet jack and transporting to specific unit/department or facility. The incumbent will be delivering items such as supplies, lab samples, vaccines according to defined schedules, request log or dispatched instruction. May also operate passenger transportation vehicles with seating capacities of up to 10 passengers including the driver while carrying one or more passengers.

Fort Nelson General Hospital is an important health centre for the north. The hospital houses 25 Acute Care beds and 8 Long-term beds. Services include:
• Lab and X-ray facilities
• Community Counselling Services
• Minor Surgery
• Physiotherapy
• Massage Therapy
• Regular visitation from a pediatrician

Fort Nelson is located in the northernmost reaches of the Rocky Mountains, has magnificent scenery and landscapes. The main industries are forestry, natural gas, transportation and tourism. The population is approximately 3,370. There are now three elementary schools and one secondary school. Fort Nelson is a charming and friendly community with genuine personality. Qualifications

• Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
