REGISTERED NURSE (RN), PSYCHIATRY

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Mills Memorial Hospital.

In accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Regional Mental health Services provides and co-ordinates nursing care to assigned patients consistent with current standards of Nursing practice and Best Practices.

New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $41.42 - $55.91/hour


A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) are starting in B.C.! Northern Health, along side other health authorities, is implementing mNPR as a transformative staffing solution that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.

Qualifications

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
• Completion of post-diploma course work in psychiatric nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be familiar with DSM IV.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
