Position Summary

Within the context of a patient centered care model and in accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Patient Care Coordinator, facilitates the delivery of the admission/discharge and transfer processes at UHNBC. The position requires in depth of knowledge of nursing theory, expert skills in nursing practice, communication, understanding and the ability to incorporate clinical skills to make appropriate decisions in the best interests of the patients and the hospital. This role will promote the efficient allocation and utilization of beds throughout UHNBC to support patients being in the appropriate area of care, receiving the highest quality of service. This position revolves around the ability to communicate with the necessary parties to problem solve the most efficient and effective solution to patient placement.

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the operations of the Hospital in the absence of managers, department heads and senior administrative personnel.
 
Qualifications

- Registration with BC College of Nursing Professionals as a practicing RN registrant.
- Five (5) years recent related clinical knowledge/experience and demonstrated competencies (leadership, professional, technical skills, attitude and judgment).
- OR the equivalent combination of training and experience.
