Position Summary

Obtains the information required in the admission of patients to the facility and completes admission documentation. Identifies available beds and refers options to a senior position for bed assignment. Balance daily hospital census making appropriate service transfers within the ADT system. Performs all duties related to the handling of the switchboard, locating requested parties and announcing code information by means of the paging system, and transferring calls. Direct visitors and handles inquiries concerning general information. Responsible for the bank deposits, mail, monthly statistics and finance inquires. Ensures completeness of appropriate inter-provincial agreement forms, WCB forms and third party liability forms. Liaises with Corporate Finance Office for information and / or troubleshooting. Performs related clerical duties.
 
Qualifications

- Grade 12 education, completion of a medical terminology course plus one (1) year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to type at 50 words per minute.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
