Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Lead Audiologist, Northeast Region, this position provides combined technical and administrative support services to the Northeast Audiology Program within the Fort St John Audiology Clinic. Audiology Technical duties include serving clients, assisting in audiological evaluation of clients, hearing screening, providing instruction to clients/caregivers on hearing aid care and use, supporting program in meeting goals of the British Columbia Early Hearing Program (BCEHP), and participating in the organization of program data, inventory control and financial aspects of the Northern Health Authority Hearing Aid Dispensing Program. The Administrative support portion of this position includes a variety of clerical functions such as word processing, data entry, typing reports and documents from notes, creating, updating and filing client charts, and scheduling clinics. Administrative assistant performs reception duties and answers general enquiries related to audiology program and policy.
 
Qualifications

- Grade 12 and completion of a diploma and/or certificate in a health or social services related field and Office Assistant Certificate or equivalent or recent, related experience of six months; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
- Experience working with infants, young children and school age children.
- One (1) years related experience in health care dealing directly with clients.
- Valid Class V BC Driver’s License.

Must also have the ability to keyboard 50 words per minute.
